Spectroscopy

Spectroscopy measures light or (or other electromagnetic radiation) as a function of wavelength. Because every substance has its own unique spectral signature, spectroscopy can be used in physics and chemistry to derive information about the atoms and molecules in an object to detect, identify and quantify chemicals. Spectroscopy is also used in astronomy and remote sensing to determine the chemical composition and physical properties of astronomical objects (such as their temperature and velocity).

Teledyne DALSA has delivered image sensors and cameras for spectroscopy for over 20 years. Custom line scan devices with tall pixels are ideal for imaging spectral lines.
