Waterloo, Ontario, August 17, 2007 - DALSA Corporation (TSX:DSA), an international leader in high performance digital imaging and semiconductors, has reached a mutual agreement with Ralf Brooks, President of DALSA Semiconductor, to enable Mr. Brooks to take early retirement. This change is in accordance with planning that has taken place over the past year. Therefore, as of September 30, 2007, Ralf Brooks will step down as President of DALSA Semiconductor.
Savvas Chamberlain, CEO of DALSA Corporation, expressed his appreciation for Mr. Brooks’ long time contributions to the company. “I understand Ralf’s wishes for a change at this time, and I am pleased that DALSA can accommodate. I thank Ralf for his significant contributions to the development and growth of DALSA Corporation since he joined our company in 1994 and I wish him well on his retirement. At the same time I am delighted that Ralf has agreed to stay involved on a limited part time basis to participate in technology business development activities.”
Effective October 1, 2007, Mr. Claude Jean will be promoted from his current role as Assistant General Manager to become General Manager and VP, DALSA Semiconductor Foundry Operations. Dr. Edwin Roks will continue as General Manager and VP, DALSA Professional Imaging and CMOS IC Business. Both Mr. Jean and Dr. Roks will report to Brian Doody, who will become CEO on September 1, 2007. At this time these two units (Foundry Operations and Professional Imaging/CMOS ICs) will continue to be reported together in DALSA’s external financial statements as DALSA Semiconductor.
