DALSA Corporation (TSX: DSA) today announced that it has further expanded its Genie family of GigE Vision-compliant digital cameras with three new models, delivering exceptional image quality at high speeds. Designed specifically for high-speed industrial imaging applications, DALSA's compact Genie HM Series represents the integration of advanced sensor, camera and board image acquisition technologies, resulting into a single component. The Genie-HM640, HM1024 and HM1400 products capture image data at impressive speeds of up to 295 FPS in VGA resolution or 60 FPS at 1400 x 1024 resolutions.
Exceptional Image Quality; Impressive Speeds
Each Genie HM camera is equipped with a high speed sensor designed by DALSA which enables exceptional image quality at this level of speed. The Genie HM Series takes full advantage of Gigabit Ethernet technology, transmitting data over standard CAT-5e and CAT-6 cables to distances of up to 100m allowing for a greater distance between the camera and inspection system.
DALSA Vice President Sales and Marketing Philip Colet states, "With DALSA's in-camera digitization, signal-to-noise ratio is increased for superior image clarity that is imperative for many industrial and medical applications."
GigE Vision™
All of DALSA's Genie cameras are certified GigE Vision compliant by the AIA (Automated Imaging Association). GigE Vision is the first standard to allow image transfer using low cost, standard cables over very long lengths. DALSA continues to lead the deployment of the GigE Vision standard in terms of adopting the technology into their product development efforts. In addition to being GigE Vision compliant, the Genie HM Series is also GenICam compliant.
Software Advantage
As soon as a camera is connected to the system, the Genie Framework software automatically identifies and communicates to the Sapera Essential environment. The Genie Framework software package contains advanced tools to facilitate faster application integration and set up, resulting in shorter system development time. Camera setup and configuration is performed using Sapera Essential's CamExpert which means operators are up and running and acquiring an image within minutes.
Genie HM Series cameras are supported by DALSA's Sapera™ Essential machine vision software. Sapera Essential is a value-add software imaging toolkit that bundles image acquisition and control with image processing tools to provide developers with the critical functionality to design, develop and deploy high-performance machine vision systems. Sapera Essential software permits monitoring of the behavior of various tasks such as triggering, image capture and data transfer to deliver DALSA's unparalleled Trigger-to-Image Reliability.
The Genie HM Series cameras start at an OEM quantity price of $1,550. USD. DALSA's Genie cameras, including the HM Series, will be showcased at the Machine Vision China Show in Shanghai China, March 20-22, at DALSA's booth #201.
DALSA's family of Genie cameras is easy-to-use and affordable. Other models in the Genie monochrome series include the M640, M1024 and M1400.
