DALSA is pleased to announce the release of its latest TrueFrame^TM CCD image sensor, the FT50M. The FT50M combines one megapixel resolution, exceptional image quality and up to 100 frames per second in a small, cost effective ½" standard optical format, delivering all of the imaging performance of a traditional ⅔" sensor. This monochrome frame transfer image sensor has an optical size of 5.7 x 5.7mm and is designed to meet the demanding needs of the medical and industrial markets in applications such as medical X-ray imaging, digital microscopy and industrial inspection.

The release of this sensor demonstrates DALSA's commitment to providing customers with cost effective, high quality sensor solutions. For manufacturers of medical diagnostic equipment, the FT50M offers unmatched image quality to support critical health care decisions. With its 1k x1k resolution and 5.6 x 5.6µm square pixel, the FT50M's high linear dynamic range (67dB), high sensitivity and vertical anti-blooming combine to provide strong high-contrast handling and greater detail retention in both dark and light areas of images.

Manufacturers designing cameras for industrial inspection will benefit from the FT50's high frame rate of up to 100 frames per second using dual 60MHz outputs. This combination of speed and image quality delivers faster, more accurate imaging and better defect detection.
